Hello Lovelies! The Simon Says Stamp's Favorite Things Release has a couple of cute critter sets and the one I wanted to try first was the Eggstra Special set which is bursting with little chicks! With all my new fluffy friends, I was able to make 3 Easter cards without repeating any of the stamps!

Today, we will focus on coloring the whole batch with Alcohol Ink Markers and making the first and easiest of the cards with a little help from some glitter cardstock and, what I am calling, an Spring Lace background.

HAPPY EASTER CHICKS CARD - Stamping, Alcohol Ink Coloring and Die-cutting

Card Size: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Color Palette

Ohuhu Marker Colors - CG II 00, E030, YR4, Y040, Y3, G130, GY1, G8, G320, BG4, B110, PB1, V330, R24, V150, RV130

COPIC Marker Colors - N1, YR01, E95, Y13, Y00, YG05, G40, G05, G0000, BG000, B02, B21, V22, BV02, V12, RV00

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

Stamp the images from the Eggstra Special stamp set on a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" sheet of white cardstock using Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.
Using the selected ink marker colors, color the chicks and their eggs/accessories.
Die-cut the stamped images using the matching Eggstra Special Dies.

Cute chick illustrations in colorful eggs with yellow painters tape to secure the dies to the white cardstock.

Secure the matching dies in place with your preferred low-tack tape (like painter's tape or washi).

Cute chicks in colorful decorated eggs and outfits on a grid backdrop. Flowers and festive eggs add a cheerful vibe.

Save the die-cuts for the 3 cards in this series, we will only use 3 now.

White cardstock with floral and butterfly cutouts, evoking Spring.

Die-cut white cardstock using the Springtime Celebration Plate; remove and set aside the small die-cut pieces for another card.

Yellow, pink, and green glittery sheets overlap on a black grid surface. The sparkly texture contrasts with the checked background.

Trim yellow glitter paper from the Pastel Glitter Cardstock Pack to 4" x 5 1/4". Die-cut the pink glitter cardstock using the Happy Easter sentiment die. Use the outline die to die-cut vellum.

To finish:

Adhere the sentiment layers together using Craft Glue
Adhere the Springtime Celebration Plate die-cut to the Yellow Glitter Cardstock layer using Craft Glue
Use Foam Tape to adhere the Celebration Layer to a Lemon Chiffon Cardstock base
Adhere sentiment and chicks as shown with Craft Glue and/or Foam Squares
