Hello Lovelies! This is my second card with the Dancing Butterflies Foil and Cut Die; I first foiled these beauties in black to contrast against a colorful background. With the beautiful rainbow foil, I kept the background neutral, so the color can soar.
I can count the number of cards I've foiled on one hand, so this post is definitely for beginners who want a simple project with gorgeous results!
I made some mistakes the first times I tried foiling and got a little discouraged thinking that I could not get it right. However, I'm glad I went back to it and paid attention this time, I didn't have the right foil for the dies/machine and I was using the correct cutting sandwich to press the foil into the cardstock. So don't give up, just get your key supplies and let's make a rainbow of butterflies:
Essential Card Supplies:
You'll definitely need some equally fabulous foiling supplies!

Patterned Layer: 3 3/4" x 5"
Featuring:
CARD WALKTHROUGH
Turn on the Glimmer Machine using the power button at the back to allow it to heat up.
Cut the Rainbow foil to a size big enough to cover the plate.
Once the "Platform Ready" button goes to solid green, you are ready to start heating your foil plate.
Place the Dancing Butterflies Foil Plate pretty side facing you and press the Timer button.
Once the timer button goes green, the plate has been heated enough.
Place foil pretty side down on top of the plate.
Cover the foil with the white cardstock.
Cover the cardstock with the Thin Shim, followed by the Spacer Pad.
Gently Slide the entire sandwich out of the Foiling System base and run through , the die-cutting machine.
I used a Sizzix Foldaway.
Flip the Thin Shim, Foil plate, cardstock and foil over to face you.
Gently peel the foil away from the cardstock to reveal the foiled butterflies.
My precious!
Die-Cutting
Align and secure the Dancing Butterflies Outline Die over the butterflies and run though a die-cutting machine.
Even more pretty when cut1
I hard to believe that both sets of colors are from the same ink pads!
Diecut the Detail Pincushion Plate using white cardstock, trim and apply strips of foam tape to the back.
Die-cut the Yay You Words Die using Gold Matte or Gold Foil Cardstock.
Secure an A2-sized Fog Grey Card Base to your work surface.
I am using the Wendy Vecchi Make Art Stay-tion.
Adhere the die-cut
Arrange and adhere the die-cuts and sentiment strip as shown.
Adhere the Piñata Sequins to the card front to finish!
Now THAT makes me smile!
The shiny Yay You sentiment picks up on the bling of the butterflies.
Rainbows, butterflies and bling??? I think my head just exploded... LOL
Thank you for stopping by and see you soon!
