Hi Lovelies!

Welcome to Day 1 of Simon Says Stamp's Beautiful Days Release Blog Hop! Today we a making a contemporary Mother's Day card with a rainbow of cardstock scraps and gorgeous black and white florals.

Confession: I am a paper hoarder, specifically a collector of scraps of solid cardstock. I tuck them away with the confidence that they will be used later on a project, and today we will definitely get that chance using the Five Squares (OR Single Square) Die Set.

MUM, I JUST LOVE YOU CARD - Die-cutting and Stamping

Card Base: 3 5/8" x 8 1/2"

PROJECT WALKTHROUGH

STAMPING THE BACKGROUND

Stamp the floral images from the Poppy Perfection Stamp set in Intense Black onto the Slimline Card Base.

Tip: Any florals will work here, so choose a similar set from your stash if you have another detailed flower that you prefer.

DIE-CUTTING THE SQUARES

Die-cut your rainbow of squares from your stash or recommended cardstock packs using the Five Squares or Single Square Dies.

CREATING THE RAINBOW GRAPHIC

Layer your squares in an evenly-spaced diamond-shaped line adhering with Simon Says Stamp DOT RUNNER Tape Adhesive allowing for a sturdy, but repositionable hold.

Adhere foam tape to the back to create dimension when later placed on the card front.

Use a ruler to align and center the diamond rainbow.

CREATING THE SENTIMENTS

Trim the "I JUST LOVE YOU" from the Reverse Bold Mom Sentiment Strip and die-cut the MUM die twice out of black and white cardstock.

Use tweezers to position the die-cuts and glue to adhere.

Adhere the sentiment strip using the Tape Runner to finish!

Bold black and white florals set the contemporary tone for this card!

A rainbow is always welcome in my craft room!
