Hello Lovelies! The weather here can't seem to decide if it wants to be Winter or Spring, but today's card from Simon Says Stamp's Favorite Things Release is definitely embracing the sweet colors of Spring.

I started out with more elaborate plans and ended up deciding on a simple layout with all the focus on my ombre bunny. We'll use the design of the embossed pattern to draw all the focus to our bunny and then further spotlight them with some pastel ink-blending.

HELLO SPRING CARD - Embossing, Ombre Stamping and Ink-Blending

Card Size: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

COLOR PALETTE - Soft Spring Hues

Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Ink Pads - Bubblegum, Lilac

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

Emboss a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of 110lb white cardstock using the Radial Dots Embossing Folder.
Ink-blend the embossed surface as show with Bubblegum using a Large Blending Brush.
Adhere the embossed layer to a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card base.
Darken the edges and corners of the embossing with Lilac using a Large Blending Brush.
Ink the top 2/3rds of the bunny from the Blessings at Easter stamp set in Bubblegum and stamp onto white cardstock.
Ink the remaining 1/3 of the bunny in Lilac and stamp onto white cardstock.
At the point where the pink and purple colors meet on the bunny, ink with Bubblegum to create the ombre.
Stamp the Hello Spring sentiment in Lilac.
Die-cut the bunny and sentiment using the matching Blessings at Easter Dies.
Apply Foam Squares to the back of the die-cut bunny and adhere to the card front as shown.
Use Foam Squares to adhere the Hello Spring sentiment to the card front.
Using the Place and Score Embellishment Wand, position the White Pearls on the card front and use Craft Glue to adhere white pearls from the bunny's nose extending up towards the sentiment.

Bubblegum and Lilac are magic together!

These soft, sweet colors match the "mood" of the bunny and still highlight the floral pattern in the lower half of the bunny.

I love how matching dies allow you to cut out sentiments so cleanly.

If you want to make this an Easter card, simply swap out the sentiment and it will still work well with this design.
