Let's take a closer look at the cards which are featuring the following Simon Says Stamp DieCember Dies:
Card 1 - Joyful
The Jewel Snowflake die is the start of the show for this slimline card and since "Distress Inking" things makes me happy, that's where this card started.
I did some grungy winter goodness with some Perfect Pearls Powder and the following inks Distress Inks - Faded Jeans, Iced Spruce and Pumice Stone. I inked my Tim Holtz Glass Mat with 3 rows of my ink colors, spritzed with a mix of Powder and water in my Distress Sprayer and then "dabbed" my Distress Ink Watercolor Cardstock into the inky puddles and heat set. I repeated my dabbing until I "built" up sufficient layers of color and achieved a background that I was satisfied with.
I also diecut 5 Jewel Snowflakes out of the same cardstock and spritzed with my pearlescent mixture to give my flakes a subtle sheen.
While they were drying, I used the CZ Design Joyful die to diecut the top layer of my sentiment and lathered it with Stickles Unicorn Glitter Glue. The bottom layer of the sentiment was cut from a strip of cardstock inked ombre-style with Faded Jeans Distress Ink.
While I waited for my Joyful sentiment to dry, I cut out the rest of my sentiments from the All Things Happy Sentiment Strips. Once dry, I layered it all up and was done!
Cards 2 and 3 - "Virtual Hugs" and "Miss You"
I was feeling all kinds of nostalgic making this adorable vintage telephone using the Dial Phone dies and the Hugs dies were perfect fit for the theme of one of my cards and inspired me to use the Miss You die on the other card.
There are no mysteries to this card and I love that about it! A lot of die-cutting, a little stamping with the Fractured Background Stamp and some custom sentiments created and printed on my trusty computer.
The stamp was inked with Distress Ink in Mowed Lawn for the "Virtual Hugs" card and Picked Raspberry for the Miss You" card.
Tip: This is a great way to use up your cardstock scraps! Just pick a light, medium and dark shade of your preferred color.
Cards 4 and 5 - "Let's Celebrate"
It's been a year for the record books but I think that's probably even more of a reason for us to find little ways to embrace all the happy that you can find and celebrate as best you can. These adorable little Champagne Flute dies had me thinking of toasting the new year with a bottle of bubbly and a lot of Zoom Calls!
I diecut the flutes in metallic cardstock and paired them with the Scripty Let's Celebrate dies. The background is stamped and embossed in gold using the stunning Hexagon Tile Background stamp.
The backgrounds for each card are colored with metallic watercolors which were a lot of fun to play with and this opaque look is very easy and soothing to achieve.
I chose a rainbow of colors for the card with the gold flutes and a range of mostly earthy tones for the card with the silver flutes.
The card may look a little fancy but is so easy to put together!
I hope these simple cards showed inspired you to test out these dies and take advantage of the Giveaway!

Great cards! Your backgrounds are impressive.
Love all of your cards!
Beautiful cards, love the geometric backgrounds
I love what you did on the background of your first card! Distress inks are so cool! And the snowflakes give a very nice touch to the card, it looks so gorgeous!
Fancy and easy are a wonderful combination...I'm in. The bubbles are a great touch from the die. Beautiful cards, but the falling snowflakes are the show stopper! ! Yes I saw you Simon and that is a great gift!
