Simon Says Stamp - DieCember® Release Blog Hop

Updated: Dec 3, 2021

Hi Lovelies!

Welcome to Day 2 of Simon Says Stamp's DieCember® Release Blog Hop! I don't know which I love more, STAMPtember or DieCember®, thank goodness that I don't have to choose!

We are going to do a clean and simple, no-stamping card today where we mini-blend a pastel rainbow through a little stencil and accent it with a matching diecut. Yes, I said "mini-blend", I'm making that a thing! :-)

I am featuring the Stylized Butterfly Dies and Stencil. They are available individually or as a set for $15.98. You will need these and some other Simon goodies to make today's rainbow butterfly card. Below is a quick snapshot of our key supplies, the full supply list is linked for your convenience here and in the Supply Gallery at the end of this post.

When you shop for the items you want, remember to use the GLOW54 code when you check out so that you can get a Little Angel Die FREE with any purchase of $30 or more. This promotion will expire 12/5 at 11:59 pm ET or while supplies last.

Time for some Mini-Blending!!!

EVERY DAY MAGICAL CARD - Mini Ink Rainbow Blending through Stencils and Accented with Stacked Die-cuts

Card Base: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Die-cut Layer: 3 3/4" x 5"

Featuring:

You're going to love how easy this card is to pull off!

  1. Die-cut an A2-sized piece of white cardstock with the Detail Tapestry Plate, this will be the base for the stenciled butterfly.

  2. Use purple tape (or delicate painter's tape like me :-)) to secure the stencil to the top portion of your die-cut cardstock

  3. Ink one end of a Detail Blending Tool in the Pawsitively Saturated Melon ink and gently apply it through the stencil starting at the bottom of the butterfly's wings and in two "rows of leaves" in the wings with the Melon ink

  4. Repeat using the other end of the Detail Blending Tool and the Bubblegum ink, slightly overlapping the pink color on top of the orange color

  5. Repeat this approach for the two remaining colors, blue followed by yellow

  1. Diecut two sets of butterfly wings out of white cardstock using the Stylized Butterfly Die

  2. Diecut the butterfly "body" out of silver glitter cardstock using the Stylized Butterfly Die

  3. Apply a strip of foam tape sized to fit beneath the butterfly body between the stenciled rainbow butterfly wings

  4. Layer the wings and use Bearly Craft Glue to adhere to the stenciled butterfly image

  1. Adhere the silver butterfly body to the foam tape strip

  2. Trim the "You Make Everyday Magical Sentiment', pop-up with foam tape and adhere to the diecut card-front

Embellish with a few clear enamel dots or rhinestones.

All done!

Something about this, just makes me smile!
