Hi Lovelies!
Welcome to Day 1 of Simon Says Stamp's Just A Note Release Blog Hop! Summer is my favorite season and lemonade is my favorite drink! So here I am cherishing the second half of summer with a pair of fun celebration cards!
If you like puzzles or paper-piecing, this project is for you. These are what I call slow-cooker cards, take your time making these special and you won't regret the result!
We won't be doing any stamping, but will make up for it with a whole lot of die-cutting!!!
Now let's review the key supplies for today's project:
Just A Note release items are linked throughout the post and the remaining items are shown in the Supplies Section at the end of this post.
Today's GIF!

SALUT AND CHEERS CARDS
Card Base: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Featuring:
COLOR PALETTE
With NO ink in sight, all the color comes from our Simon Says Cardstock choices - Green Apple and Sunshine!
PROJECT WALKTHROUGH
MAKING THE CARD FRONTS
Use the Citrus Slice Background Die to die-cut 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" Apple Green, Sunshine and white cardstock.
Pop out the negative pieces of each die-cut, keeping the Sunshine and Green Apple segments.
Adhere the white Citrus Slice Background die-cut to a card base. Using the wax end of the Simon Says Stamp Place And Score Embellishment Wand to pick up the Sunshine and Green Apple triangle sentiments, adhere the segments to the white background with glue (I used Bearly Arts Craft Glue)
Adhere the Green Apple Background Die-cut to a yellow piece of cardstock and trim to show the pattern below. Pop-up with foam tape on a white card base.
CREATING THE SENTIMENTS AND EMBELLISHMENTS
Die-cut the Citrus Slice Die three times out of white glitter cardstock and once each out of the Sunshine and Green Apple cardstock. You can discard the glitter negative segments (triangles) as you will only be using the outline and the circular and semi-circular bases
Die-cut two outline layers of the Citrus Slice die (see photo on the left) from the Sunshine and Green Apple cardstock
Use the chisel tip of the Copic Markers (Y19 and YG23), to color the Glitter die-cuts:
1 green glitter circle
2 yellow glitter circles
yellow outer rim of 1 lemon outline layer (seee photo on the right)
1 green lime outline layer
Adhere layers with glue to assemble
Die-cut the main sentiments out of white and Sunshine cardstock and adhere with glue
Trim the Happy Day Sentiment Strips and pop-up with foam tape
Assemble as shown below:
Paper-piecing like this does take some time, but I find it so rewarding and I hope you do too!
You can buy all kinds of colors of glitter cardstock, but I really enjoy custom-coloring my own for die-cuts!
You can't help but smile with a color scheme like this!
I was worried about getting an even line on my lemon slice with the yellow marker, but it worked out pretty well.
