Hi Lovelies!
Welcome to Day 2 of Simon Says Stamp's Blog Hop for the Make Magic Release. This release is bursting with so many goodie and I thoroughly enjoyed having a chance to create for you today.
I've linked key supplies throughout and the full supply list for today's projects is at the bottom of this post, so when you shop for the items you want, remember to use the ARTMAGIC code when you check out so that you can get a FREE* Art Supplies Die Set with any purchase of $40 or more!!!
Also, the Magicians at Simon Says Stamp are giving away a $25 coupon to every stop on the hop from each blog's comment section.
It's all about the dies for this rainbow duo; I used 5 of the new dies from the Make Magic Release for these colorful cards. I paired the dies with the unassuming and gorgeous Stained Glass Background Stamp on each card.
Key Supplies
I encourage you to dig through your solid cardstock scraps if you make these cards. The exact colors don't matter, just select a rainbow of colors and divide them into warm and cool colors.
If you are looking to add to your colored cardstock, I have included a Simon Says Stamp Cardstock pack in the Supplies Section at the end of the post, that offers 24 colors in a single pack!!!.
MAKE ME SMILE CARD - Rainbow of diecuts in warm color selection, layered on embossed, stamped background
Size: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Featuring:
Rub an Anti-Static Pouch over one side of the Fog Grey Cardstock and then secure from the back to the inside of the MISTI base or similar stamp positioning tool with a strip low-tack tape. Tip: You can use the tape as a handle for when you are embossing
Ink the stamp with Simon Says Stamp Clear Ink and stamp on the cardstock
Dust the inked cardstock with Wow Embossing Glitter Metallic Gold and heat emboss
Leave the Geometric Builders Hearts Dies linked together as they come in the package and use them to diecut your selection of warm cardstock colors, and a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of white (or any scrap) cardstock as shown. The scrap cardstock will be used as a guide to place the hearts on the card front
Adhere the embossed cardstock to the front of an A2 Card Base
Using low tack tape adhere the cardstock guide over the embossed cardstock
Apply adhesive to each selected diecut and adhere inside each of the heart openings on the card front as shown
Diecut the "Love" sentiment from white cardstock using the Small Script 2 Dies
Foil the "You Make Me Smile" Reverse Sentiment Strip
Adhere the Sentiment Strip and diecuts to the card front and embellish with Tim Holtz Metallic Baubles
Steps 1 - 3
Step 4
Steps 5 - 7
Steps 8- 10
All done!
HEY GIRL HEY CARD - Rainbow of diecuts in cool color selection, inset in stamped background
Size: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Featuring:
Additional supplies linked in the Supplies Gallery at the end of this post
Stamp white cardstock with the Stained Glass Background Stamp using Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide Ink
Leave the Sexy Hexies Dies linked together as they come in the package and use them to diecut your selection of cool cardstock colors, silver metallic cardstock and the stamped white cardstock as shown
Adhere the stamped cardstock to the front of an A2 Card Base
Apply adhesive to each selected diecut and adhere inside each of the hexagon opening on the card front.
Diecut the "Hey Girl Hey" sentiment using the Girl and Flipped Hey dies out of black and white cardstock. Diecut Girl twice and layer for dimension
Adhere the diecuts to the card front and embellish with Tim Holtz Metallic Baubles
Steps 5 and 6
Tip: I chose to diecut all the hearts and hexagons out of a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" pieces of cardstock as I intend to make multiples of this card. However you can elect to cut just one shape per color to conserve cardstock if you only plan to do one of each card.
Let me know in the comments which card you preferred.
