Hello Lovelies! Every now and then I get a crafting product that I know exactly what I want it to look like when I'm done using it. In Simon Says Stamp's Celebrate Release, the Organic Leaves Stamp was that for me.
I wanted a pattern reminiscent of a Batik print and I thought that I could make it happen with some monochromatic inks and little water.

WATERCOLOR-STAMPING
NOTE: I didn't take process photos with the blue background so I will demonstrate the same technique with the green background below.
Adhere a 6" x 6" piece of white cardstock to a Stamp and Stencil Mat.
Secure the Organic Leaves Stamp over the cardstock.
Ink the stamp all over with the lightest color Pawsitively Saturated Ink (Marine/Sprout)and stamp as shown.
Ink a few sections of the stamp using the darkest color ink (Iris/Field) and stamp.
Repeat with the second darkest in other sections of the stamp (Royal/Fairway)
Add a few random touches of the last color (Marine/Tropic) to the stamp and apply the stamp to the paper.
Mist the stamp with water and whatever residual ink remains on it and stamp a final time to achieve the distressed watercolor effect.
Trim cardstock to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". Retain scraps for another project :-)
