I don't know what I expected from Simon Says Stamp's STAMPtember 2021, but I definitely wasn't thinking about INKS!!! I was floored when these beauties turned up a few days ago!
Mama Heidi (owner of Simon) said that these beauties have been in the works for a while and it shows!!!
There are 5 gorgeous Trios, each available for $19.99 or you can get the entire bundle of 15 ink pads for $99.99! Click image above or links to shop!
While we are talking about shopping, let me also recommend that you snag the Simon Says Stamp Blending Brushes in large and/or small sizes:
I always swatch my new inks as that is the way that I learn the colors. I've done a couple Instagram posts on how I swatch, but I will link the supplies at the end of this post so you can try if that interests you. You will see these inks pop up in my cards over the next few weeks, starting on Heidi's birthday, September 3!
Until then, lets just go stare at these colors and learn a little about the new ink pads!
5 THINGS YOU NEED TO NOW ABOUT THE NEW PAWSITIVELY SATURATED INK PADS
1. THE INKS COME IN TRIOS
each trio is part of the same color family (e.g. pink) and contains a light, medium and dark version of that color are perfect on their own or work delightfully for your stamp-layering projects
2. 15 COLORS ARE NOW AVAILABLE
The color names are listed below and I have assigned my own color family names that I note here, so don't expect to see them on the Simon website. LOL As I look at the names for each ink pad, I think that our friends at Simon had a lot of fun making them up!!!
PINK COLOR FAMILY (Trio 5)
Cheeky
Blush
Pucker
ORANGE COLOR FAMILY (Trio 4)
Peachy
Grapefruit
Mandarin
YELLOW COLOR FAMILY (Trio 3)
Lemonade
Sunbeam
Citrine
GREEN COLOR FAMILY (Trio 2)
Celery
Limelicious
Pearfection
TURQUOISE COLOR FAMILY (Trio 1)
Seafoam
Surf
Ocean
3. THE INK PAD IS FOAM-LIKE AND FLEXIBLE
Instead of a rigid felt pad, this ink pad has been designed to hold this particular formulation of ink beautifully; it is flexible and soft and arrived juicy (they are not kidding about that PAWSITIVELY SATURATED name!!!)
For your ink-blending activities, instead of rubbing like I usually do, I would recommend gently tapping the bristles of your blending brush on the top of the ink pad. This will release ink onto your brush and you will be ready for blending
4. THE INK PADS HAVE SIDE LABELS FOR EASY IDENTIFICATION WHEN STORED
I have a whole process for labelling my ink-pad which I will gladly give up for these beauties, as they come with color coordinated labels on the side of the pad that are easily viewed when stored.
Also the lids fit securely and don't fall off to keep your inks from drying out prematurely
5. THEY BLEND LIKE BUTTER!
As you can see from my swatches, which I created with the Simon Says Stamp blending brushes, the ink applies smoothly and evenly to the paper
I tested blending the yellow trio together on some Neenah cardstock. See results below, butter anyone??? LOL
There is another thing that these inks can do that I have not tested yet. They are water-reactive!!! I can wait to try that out and will definitely share the results with you, until then, I'm just going to leave this right here...
I hope you enjoyed your visit! Do you get as excited about new inks as I do? Tell me all about it in the comments.
Thanks for stopping by Lovelies! See you soon!
