Simon Says Stamp - Tumbling Flowers Sympathy Card

Writer's picture: Keisha DiannKeisha Diann

Red embossed Christmas Card with All The Joy sentiment.

Hello Lovelies! I may be biased, but I think that cards designed to comfort someone may be the best ones that you get to send. Growing up, I felt like many sympathy cards came in somber colors, but I wanted today's card to be soothing but add a little cheer to the recipient's day.

I used this stencil when it was first released as part of the To Love release in December 2024, but missed out on pairing it with the matching Tumbling Flowers Embossing Folder. The thing I like about this set in particular is that it is one that you can use for many different reasons throughout the year. I love when my crafty goodies have staying power!

COLOR PALETTE

Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Inks - Twilight, Heather, Carnation, Melon and Surf.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

  1. Emboss a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of 110lb white cardstock using the Tumbling Hearts Embossing Folder.

  2. Place the embossed layer on a Pawsitively Perfect Craft Tacky Mat and align one of the five stencil layers show below over the matching pieces of the raised design.

  3. Ink with the corresponding color from the selected palette of Pawsitively Saturated Inks using a blending brush.

  4. Repeat the stenciling with the four remaining layers and ink colors.

  5. Ink-blend Melon onto a piece of white cardstock and then die-cut with the I'm Sorry die.

  6. Die-cut the sentiment outline out of vellum.

  7. Layer and adhere the inked sentiment onto a matching sentiment die-cut with plain white cardstock to create dimension. Adhere to the vellum layer.

  8. Adhere the sentiment to the embossed layer, apply Foam Tape and stick onto a card base.

  9. Adhere Dusk Gems to the embossed layer to finish.

The flowers and leaves are done in a bit of a whimsical color palette and can cheer someone up a little.

These may be my favorite Gems, they positively glow!

This sentiment says so many things so simply! Cathy Zielske has a beautiful way with words.
