Hello Lovelies! This Tim Holtz and Sizzix Vault March 2025 Vault Release does not disappoint. There are so many little treats packed into these sets that are great for Spring crafting. To create this Floristry Framed Decor project, I played with die-cuts and textures to create a watercolor botanical collage made for gifting to a dear friend or change the sentiment and make something special for Mother's Day!
Today's project focuses on the Vault Side-Order FLORISTRY 2-D Texture Fades Embossing Folder w/11PK Thinlits Set and the Vault EDGES Thinlits 31PK Die Set. I also used the Textured Impressions Embossing Folder - Vault Flourish by Tim Holtz which won't be available until March 31. Be sure to visit me then to check out another project for your summer travel plans.

Let's take a closer look at the die sets needed for today's project. You can purchase them individually or get the whole bundle from Simon Says Stamp.

PROJECT WALKTHROUGH

DIE-CUTTING
Die-cut the various flower shapes out of Distress Watercolor Cardstock inked with Distress Re-Inker and splattered with water to create the splotchy watercolor effect.
Adhere the die-cuts with Craft Glue.
Die-cut the hexagons out of Mixed Media Cardstock and the word "friend" out of Vintage Photo watercolor cardstock
Emboss the hexagons with the Honeycomb Embossing Folder in the Floristry set and the Vault Flourish Embossing Folder.
DISTRESSING & ADDING TEXTURE
Place the hexagons in a Splat Box and mist with Distress Spritz.
Trim white cardstock to 6" x 6" for the background and adhere the hexagons using foam squares.
Arrange the flower die-cuts as shown.
Carefully place a layer of Glad Press N Seal film over the flowers and press gently to adhere them to the film. Lift up and set them aside to continue working on the background.
Gently rub a Brushed Corduroy Ink Pad over the embossed surface of the hexagon die-cuts.
COLORING & ADDING MORE TEXTURE
Pick up Kitsch Flamingo and Spiced Marmalade Reinker from your craft mat using a piece of clear acetate.
Use it to add splotches of color on the white background.
Stamp snippets of the Crochet stamp in Brushed Corduroy on the left and right sides as shown.
Stencil patches of Opaque Distress Texture Paste along the top left, top right and right bottom side of the background.
Mist the background with water to mix the colors into an uneven wash.
Retrieve the film with the flowers and apply Craft Glue and Foam Squares where needed and apply to the Hexagons.
Tie the metal tag with burlap twine or similar.
SENTIMENT & PAINT SPLATTERING
Apply Distress Ink Pads directly to pieces of 110lb Neenah Solar cardstock to create all the colors needed for the snowmen. (showing a sample below)
Use a small piece of mixed media cardstock as a backer to support the word "friend". Adhere with craft glue.
Splatter with Picket Fence Distress Pain inside a Splat Box. I've tape off my frame in the picture as I decided to do this after I already put it inside the shadow box.

Glad I decided to add the paint splatter at the end, it helped "pull" all the layers together.

Oh how I love this sentiment...

My flowers are pretty bright but you can of course alter this to your preferred palette.

Whoever you make this for, I hope it makes their heart smile.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope this was helpful. Leave me a comment with your thoughts please. It really does make my day and I am always happy to take any questions.
See you soon!
