Hello Lovelies! 2024 is whizzing by for me already, so I am sorry that I am just getting to sharing these pix. I was so happy to see the remaining colors of the Distress Watercolor Pencils release this January and I've set aside a full set of all 75 colors, plus a sharpener just for one of you! Giveaway details later on in the post.
Every time I get new colors, I must swatch them, but this time I did it the traditional way AND with a twist! In addition to sharing the swatches, we'll talk about storage and a zero wast approach to using your pencils.
Simon Says Stamp has a bundle with the new colors and another with ALL the pencils.
ALL THE PENCILS!

STORAGE
When it comes to storage, you have several choices, my favorite include:
the original tins
the Tim Holds Distress Storage Tin
A pencil wrap
Tim Holtz Distress Storage Tin - holds up to 36 Watercolor Pencils, so you will need 2 for the full set
PENCIL WRAP
I've decided to keep my pencils in a pencil wrap and I've managed to cram 74 of 75 pencils into it.
SWATCH CHARTS
TRADITIONAL
For my Ranger products, I always head over to Ranger Ink's site to download the latest swatch charts from the Organize your Products section.
I prefer my Watercolor pencils to have a well-defined point for detailed coloring, but this pencil is all pigment, so don't waste the shavings. I sharpen mine into a watercolor pan for each color and use as watercolor paint so I get two products for the price of one.
Cheiron Brandon has a great YouTube video and maybe also blog post walking you through how to create your watercolor palette, so I won't be repeating that here.
With my pencils in the wrap, I decided to store my my "Distress Shaving Paint" in the original pencil container.
I then used this "paint" to create my Non-traditional swatches based on the colors that come in each set.
NON TRADITIONAL SWATCHES
Though you can watercolor with Distress Ink, of course I am happy to have a new and even more convenient option!!!
